 Montague County has its first bonded winery! That is due to owners Larry and Brenda Thompson's dreams, hard work and determination. The couple had been making wine at home for over five years as a hobby. Suddenly or maybe not so suddenly, their hobby evolved into a career. Larry’s family has been in the surrounding community for over a century. As he and Brenda planned for retirement, the dream had always been to retire in the area. They obtained property in Forestburg and converted it into a small commercial winery. The Weinhof Winery offers its visitors old world charm with great Texas hospitality. The winery is open now on weekends from Saturday noon to 8pm and Sundays from 1 to 5pm. The winery offers tasting and evaluations of several wines on a monthly basis.
